Naples with Anna Tuck-Scala:

Discover the secrets, surprises and treasures of one of the most fascinating cities in Italy: Naples.  As a leading local expert who has taken students to Naples for two decades, Prof. Tuck-Scala will guide you around the historic center, “Spaccanapoli”, where the ancient narrow streets follow the over 2,000 year old Greek city plan. On the colorful walking tour, we’ll see Caravaggio’s most moving paintings, hand-crafted crib scenes, and enjoy Italy’s best pizza and coffee! The itinerary also includes visits to the world famous Archaeological Museum containing objects from Pompeii, the Capodimonte Museum housing Renaissance and baroque paintings, and the lavishly decorated Certosa di San Martino with a spectacular view of the city, Vesuvius and Bay of Naples.

Florence with Frank Dabell:

Remember Florence (not just Michelangelo's David and that famous “bistecca fiorentina”)? 15 years of excursions there haven't dimmed Prof. Frank Dabell's passion for the city, and he'll be leading us around the familiar (and some not-so-familiar) sites. Some of these names may resonate: Ghiberti, Donatello, Galileo, Vivoli...,but in any case we'll taste the excitement of the Renaissance and the birth of our modern world. Don’t miss this occasion to re-visit Florence with someone Travel+Leisure Magazine has listed as one of the “World’s Greatest Tour Guides”!

Parma and Modena with Greg Smith:

Join Prof. Greg Smith for a compact tour of modern Italian excellence in food, wine, Ferraris, and urban planning. The visit leads us through the historic region of Umbria with a stop at the extraordinary wine museum of Torgiano and the nearby open air sculpture park of Brufa. The evening is spent touring Modena, one of the best managed historic cities of Europe and arguably its most distinguished gastronomic capital. Saturday morning is spent at the parmesan museum of Soragna, leaving the early afternoon for a visit to the Ferrari museum of Maranello. The experience of driving a Ferrari is available at modest extra cost.

Please note, excursions will return to Rome late on Saturday. You will be responsible for your hotel room on Saturday night.
