Winter 2016 International Photo Contest

Share your study abroad experiences by entering our annual International Photo Contest! Students may submit photos of their study abroad experiences (photos of travel outside of your program location are acceptable, so long as they are outside of the United States). There are three categories for the contest: Student Experience, Artistic Vision and Owls Abroad. We are looking for unique images that capture the experience of studying abroad and tell a story.

The Student Experience category should include images of students (Temple students or non-Temple students on Temple programs) engaged in living and learning abroad, highlighting the process of discovery, making friends abroad, interacting with local residents, getting involved in the community/volunteering, participating in internships, etc.

The Artistic Vision category is more open, and might include landscapes/cityscapes, landmarks, people, culture, or other scenery or moments that capture the experience of traveling or living abroad.

Temple students, show your Owl pride in the Owls Abroad Category: submit photos of Temple Students wearing Temple gear (or otherwise demonstrating their “OWLness”) in their study abroad location.

Image rights: Photos in all categories must be submitted by the author (photographer) of the photo with the permission of all parties photographed. All photographs submitted become the property of Education Abroad and may be used for promotional purposes online or in print, in whole or in part, by Education Abroad, Temple University and its affiliates.

Eligibility: This contest is open to Temple students who have studied abroad on both Temple and non-Temple programs, and to non-Temple students who have studied abroad on Temple programs. The Owls Abroad category is open to Temple students only.

Judging: Photos for all categories will be judged by a faculty/staff panel, and selected finalists’ photographs will be displayed at the Study Abroad fair on January 20, 2016 for final voting.

Winners: Winners in each category will be awarded prizes valued at $250 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place. Winning photos will be displayed on the Education Abroad website, social media channels and in our office (200 Tuttleman).
