Description: 

An introduction to modern world literatures in English (or in translation) within the context of colonialism, anti-colonial resistance, and postcolonial movements. Content and geographical focus vary each semester: a sample of authors to be studied might include Clarice Lispector, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Assia Djebar, Ama Ata Aidoo, Maryse Conde, Zoe Valdes, Derek Walcott, Chinua Achebe, Anita Desai, Salman Rushdie, Michael Ondaatje, among others. 

This course will be adapted for Italy.
