Description: 

This course is designed to deepen understanding of Italian culture, ethnicity, and universal themes as they are portrayed in Italian film and literature. It explores commonality and difference between two different forms of creative expression, in particular novels that were then adapted for film, as well as works of authors and filmmakers that are not directly linked. 

Special Notes: 

Topics vary. Viewing of films, readings. Taught in English. Can be taken as a cognate course for the Italian major.
