Foundations of Study Abroad

Foundations is the mandatory first-step designed for students who are interested in studying abroad. Get all the essential tools, resources and information needed to study abroad including, program options, application procedures, finances, travel essentials and more.  You’ll also have the opportunity to meet and talk with study abroad alumni who can talk with you about their experiences as well as answer any questions you might have about life abroad.

These sessions are held several times a week during the semester. Register online.

Information Sessions

Info sessions range from country, region and program specific sessions, to scholarships and scholarship writing workshops, to budgeting and financing your experience.  Info sessions are held each week during the semester, and each session is often offered more than once throughout the fall and spring. Students also have the opportunity to meet and chat with returned study abroad students and hear about their experience during these sessions.
If you're in the initial phases of exploring study abroad, you should start by attending Foundations of Study Abroad, which provides the basic information needed to start planning a semester, year or summer abroad.
Many of our information sessions do not require registration. For a complete listing of our information sessions, view our Calendar

This is an informal gathering for students preparing to study abroad on a particular program to meet study abroad alumni from that program, as well as the other students with whom they will be traveling.

Global Temple

Each November, Education Abroad & Overseas Campuses hosts the Global Temple Conference, held in the Howard Gittis Student Center. This day-long symposium explores and celebrates Temple’s wide ranging international work. This conference features student, staff and faculty research, plus a variety of programs and creative ventures. We welcome proposals for various formats-–papers, panel discussions, posters, films, performances, & exhibits—organized broadly around four pillars of university excellence: scholarship, teaching, creativity, and service.

Delaware Valley Re-Entry Conference

After an extended period of time abroad, you may find yourself looking for deeper meaning or to further process your experiences. Early each Spring, the Education Abroad Office joins the Delaware Valley Study Abroad Re-Entry conference to offer an opportunity for recently returned students to network with other returnees in the area. Sessions cover topics such as international employment, volunteer and non-profit opportunities abroad, graduate studies, and international opportunities in and around Philadelphia.  Students can also learn how to incorporate their international experiences into their resumé and interviews. This year’s focus is Becoming a Global Grad. The conference will take place on Friday, February 5 from 11:30 am-5:00 pm at The Howard Gittis Student Center at Temple University.
