Temple Japan: Summer Olympics Program

In 1964, Japan used the Olympics to showcase the rebirth after World War II. The nation that had been decimated during the war then grew to be one of the largest economies in the world. Will the 2020 Olympics spur the country to adapt, or does this moment represent the peak of a nation that will then decline? Temple Japan has designed a three-course summer program that will provide students with an understanding of the history and culture of Japan, as well as with an appreciation for the impact of major events on cities and nations. This will be a multi-disciplinary look at the impact of the Olympics … in real time.

Applications for the program will be reviewed on a rolling basis; therefore, students are encouraged to apply early as we are expecting a high volume of applications for summer 2020. Once the program fills, qualified applicants may be placed on a waitlist.

Information on this program is tentative and subject to change.
