Maddy Sullivan

Maddy advises and supports students planning to study abroad at Temple Japan and on all Temple Exchanges. She graduated with a BBA in International Business at Temple University, where she spent her junior year on an exchange program at Ewha Womans University in Korea. During her year in Korea, she took advanced Korean language classes, made friends from all over the world, and also traveled to France and Taiwan.
Along with spending an academic year studying in Korea, she was very involved with the international community during her undergraduate career. She participated in the Global Living Learning Community and language exchanges, and worked as a Peer Advisor for Education Abroad, a Conversation Partner for international students at the writing center, and a Campus Cousin for newly admitted international freshmen. Following her international interests, she completed her MSEd in TESOL at Temple University in 2018 and is currently one of the program administrators of the Global LLC.

What did you gain from studying abroad?

“My year abroad taught me so much more than just academics. I learned how to put myself out there and not be afraid of meeting new people, how to navigate a new city entirely on my own, and how to be independent. I came back from Korea with not only a greater knowledge of the Korean language and culture but a passion to help other students like me - those who are planning on studying abroad, and those who have come to the U.S. as international students.”
