Favorite memory of your time abroad:

During our first week in Rome after quarantine, the university took a class trip to Todi, which is really cool town in Italy. We stopped for breakfast and I had become addicted to gelato by that point already. So, I went into a gelateria and ordered strawberry gelato, which is "fragola" in Italian. My pronunciation was way off, so the woman scooped vanilla gelato instead. Mary Conran, our academic advisor at Temple Rome, came to check on a group of us to see how breakfast was going, and she picked up on the fact that I really wasn't enjoying my gelato. I hadn't noticed at the time, and a few moments later she showed up with the strawberry flavor that I wanted. It was the highlight of my day.
