Hi! My name is Erin, and I am a junior studying psychology and Spanish. I will be spending this summer in Oviedo, Spain. I am passionate about mental health awareness, people, and language, and I hope to provide a unique prospective in my blogs about the intersection of these topics. I'm so excited to engage with the community and culture of Oviedo, so that I can strengthen my Spanish skills and make meaningful connections with the people and places I encounter while abroad. In addition to feeling excitement, I am also aware that studying abroad can pose challenges, so I will be documenting my experiences abroad and sharing how I deal with common anxieties. Follow along if you're feeling a mix of nerves and excitement or are worried about the adjustment to a new culture; I'm hoping to show that it's normal to feel those feelings and you can still have an amazing and rewarding time abroad.

During my past three years at Temple, I learned that time flies, so we should make the most of every opportunity and relationship. I am heading to Oviedo with that same mindset so that I can become more understanding, culturally competent and globally aware all while strengthening my Spanish language abilities!
