Founded in 1875, The American College of Greece is the oldest American-accredited college in Europe and the largest private college in Greece. The large campus fuses Athens's past with its future, including a vibrant student community, buzzing with academic societies and student clubs, sports teams, and art festivals.     Location

    The American College of Greece is a 64-acre campus located close to the renowned city of Athens. The campus lives on the Greek hillside in the neighborhood of Agia Paraskevi, known for its safety and nearby beaches. The classrooms and dormorities are within walking distance to the Mt. Hymettus national forest and the local downtown with restaurants, cafes, and shopping centers. Accessible to both the modern marvels of the city and historical monuments, the city offers adventure and knowledge for students in all disciplines.

    The campus has modern classrooms, library, student lounge, cafes, athletic fields, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness facilities, wellness center, international student center and a theater.

    Program participants are required to be present for the entire length of the program, from the official arrival date through the program end date.

    Housing

    Program-arranged housing is included in the exchange program's comprehensive exchange fees. The comprehensive fees include housing, excursions, visa assistance, airport pickup, laundry facilities, Olympic-quality athletic facilities on campus as well as a fitness center in the Residence Complex.

    The American College of Greece operates a residence complex a short walk from campus. Students housed in ACG apartments live in a safe, clean, residential environment in a quiet neighborhood with nearby grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and shopping centers. The residence complex offers fully furnished studios, single or double bedrooms in shared apartments. The residence has Wi-Fi, air conditioning, laundry facilities, and full kitchens for students.

    Faculty & On-site Support

    As an Exchange Program participant, you will have access to the support provided by your host institution. The American College of Greece offers support through their Counseling Center, Student Success Center, and wellness center.

    Program Costs

    Program Deposit

    Students will pay a non-refundable program deposit of $400 within 2 weeks of nomination to the program. This non-refundable deposit is credited to your program fees as a prepayment. 

    Temple Tuition and Standard University Fees

    Students pay Temple tuition and fees directly to Temple. Visit Temple’s Bursar for per-credit tuition rates. All students pay University Services Fee.

    Eligibility Requirements

    Temple programs are open to qualified students matriculated at any U.S. or Canadian college or university.

    You are eligible to apply if you meet the following requirements.

    Are enrolled fulltime and will have completed 2 semesters before studying abroad
    • You are enrolled as a full-time matriculated student at the time of application as well as during the semester prior to studying abroad.
    • You will have completed at least two (2) semesters of college-level study by the program start.
    Are in good academic standing and meet minimum GPA requirement for the program

    You meet minimum cumulative GPA requirement, on a 4.0 scale from all colleges/universities attended. The requirement varies by program:

    • Temple Semester Programs: 2.75 (Internships: 3.0)
    • Temple Summer Programs: 2.5
    • Exchange Programs: 2.75
    • External Programs: 2.5

    You remain in good academic standing from the time of application until the start of your term abroad; students on academic warning are not eligible to participate.

    Have a valid passport

    You will need a passport, valid well beyond the length of your program, by the application deadline.

    Are in good disciplinary standing

    You are in good disciplinary standing at the time of application and remain so through the start of your term abroad. Students who have been found responsible for a code of conduct violation and will not be in good disciplinary standing (including disciplinary probation) may submit a petition for review.

    Meet the minimum age requirement

    You are at least 18 years old at the time of application.

    For the American College of Greece, the following additional considerations apply. 

    • Students will be selected mainly based on academic fit and demonstrated interest in the host university and/or location. 

    Non-U.S. citizens: you are welcome to study abroad if you meet the eligibility requirements; however, you are not permitted to study abroad on an exchange program in your home country. Please speak to Education Abroad if you have questions about your eligibility.

      • All students applying for an exchange program are required to meet with a program manager before submitting their application. 

      Admissions Timeline

      • Admissions is not rolling.
      • Temple nominates students for Exchange Programs after the deadline for the specific term.
      • Once you submit your application, you should expect a decision by the decision deadline, about one month after the program application deadline has passed.
