Susan Makurath Award for Study Abroad in French

Award amount: $2,000

Applicable to eligible students (see eligibility requirements, below) applying for the Temple Summer in France: French Language at the Sorbonne (Paris) program in their pursuit of French Language proficiency. Please email with any questions you may have on the application process or eligibility requirements.

All scholarship applicants must submit a 500- to 1000-word typed essay answering the following question: What are your specific goals for studying abroad, how does language study in France fit with these goals, and how will you ensure that you achieve these goals? A successful essay will clearly articulate how the Temple Summer in France: French Language at the Sorbonne (Paris) program relates to your personal, academic, and long-term goals.

This scholarship is offered by the French, German, Italian, and Slavic (FGIS) department at Temple University. 
 

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be attending the Temple Summer in France: French Language at the Sorbonne (Paris) program, demonstrate financial need and be enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts. Preference shall be given to scholars who major in French. Contact FGIS for more details (fgis@temple.edu) and submit the application online.
