Notes on degree courses

*Each school/college (known in Spain as a "facultad") organizes it's own course schedules; given this and the distance between the University of Oviedo's campuses, it is not possible to take your discipline-specific courses in more than one school. If you choose this track, you will select one school from which to take your discipline-specific courses. In this way, your experience will be similar to University of Oviedo matriculated students, who take all of their courses within one school. Unlike UniOvi students, however, you will have the flexibility to take courses offered during any year of that degree program, so long as you meet the pre-requisites of Temple's course equivalent.

While the University of Oviedo does not have a standardized GenEd program across all schools, each degree program offers its own foundational courses (called formación básica). These courses are taught by specialists in their field. Even if it is the degree program of marketing, for example, the “sociology” course that is part of the marketing degree program will be taught by a sociologist. These classes in formación básica exist in every school and degree program and offer flexibility to study other subjects.
