Every fall and spring semester, dating back to Spring 2023, we host a wonderful event at Temple Rome, called Stay Local Weekend! This is a long weekend full of fun, interactive events and activities that incorporate a sustainability focus. Students commit to staying in Rome and to not hosting anyone from out of town for the whole weekend, in an effort to reduce carbon emissions. In return they participate in a variety of exciting events--examples include a wine tasting, a Colosseum tour, a campus clean-up, a farmer's market tour, a movie night, a jogging tour of the city, a recycled art workshop, and much more (see below). Most of the student body participates, as students have the opportunity to explore their host city better, help the planet, and have fun with their peers, faculty, and staff!
