Favorite memory of your time abroad:

My favorite memory from studying abroad this summer was studying Ukrainian in the Carpathian mountains. Every morning when I got up and went outside, I could see miles and miles of the Carpathian mountainscape. The mornings were warm and the evenings were crisp, and being there with other people from around the world who happened to have an interest in studying Ukrainian was very heartwarming. The peak (pun intended) moment was when we climbed a mountain 1400 kilometers high. The hike was 1400 miles long, and though it was difficult, being able to see the horizon at the top was an amazing feeling.

Choosing a location, major-specific subjects, raising funds/applying for scholarships (especially)

"As the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, studying in Ukraine was absolutely the most rewarding thing I could have done this summer both for me as a person, and for my future as an aspiring diplomat."
