Julie Drzymalski is a Professor of Instruction and Director of the Industrial and Systems Engineering program which she founded in 2016. Previously she was a faculty member at Drexel University and Chair at Western New England University. Before joining academia, she held various industrial positions mainly in the construction industry in quality engineering, project and program management. Her projects range from aircraft arresting systems to precast and prestressed structures such as schools and jails throughout the US. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Engineering Management, a Governor of the Order of the Engineer, and an active member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. Her teaching interests lie in the areas of operations research and systems modeling. Currently her research revolves around the application of complex adaptive systems modeling to areas such as supply chains and human centered systems. She is also a passionate seamstress and enjoys designing and making accessories made from recycled and upcycled material.
