Kevin Yu, an International Business major at Temple University, worked as a marketing intern at Klinamen, an international architecture firm located just off the Fori Imperiali in Rome. He assisted and consulted on the design of a new website with a focus on aesthetics and efficiency, analyzed the competition to guage the positioning strength of Klinamen within the market, and worked with search engine optimization tools such as SemRush and Google AdWords. The internship gave Kevin his first marketing experience working within a small firm as well as his first experience with any company catering to a luxury market. The internship allowed him the opportunity to step out of his comfort zone and show his adaptability.
The experience gave Kevin both a personal and professional journey that he felt would prepare him for a versatile career in any field he chose to pursue. When asked directly about the internship, he said “This entire experience has been unbelievable. I have grown more in these three months as a person than I have ever grown in my life. The internship gave me an opportunity to see the daily operations of a foreign company and I don't regret it for a second.” He continued, “I now have a whole new perspective on life and work. I learned to be more resourceful and patient. I didn't realize just how difficult the transition into a life in a different country would be. I have a newfound respect for those who accomplish it successfully.”
"I am extremely grateful to Temple University and Klinamen that I got the opportunity to do this internship and I would highly recommend doing an internship to anyone who studies abroad."
