New to study abroad or not sure where to begin? Group advising sessions cover the basics—program types, application timelines, and next steps—while giving you time to ask general questions. These sessions are ideal for students at the very start of their study abroad journey and looking for guidance on how to move forward.

Summer Programs Information Sessions

Gilman advising sessions are for Temple students only.

Gilman Advising Day & the Apply-to-Gilman Guarantee

Temple Main Campus students who attend a Gilman Advising Day on February 20, 2026, hosted by Education Abroad, and submit a certified application to the Gilman Scholarship will receive an Education Abroad scholarship of at least $500 toward their study abroad program. The Gilman application is currently open for summer 2026, fall 2026, academic year 2026, and spring 2027 study abroad applicants and due Thursday, March 5, 2026. Read further details below. *limited to one award per student

Each mixer explores a different theme, from navigating academics and wellness abroad to building community, celebrating identity, and reflecting on global experiences.

Study Abroad Fairs and Global Engagement Week

In the fall semester, join us for Global Engagement Week, an exciting weeklong celebration of Temple's global community. Whether you're an international student just arriving in Philadelphia for the first time, an American student getting ready to explore the world with Temple or anyone in between, this week is all about you.

The fall Study Abroad Fair takes place during Global Engagement Week and provides students with the opportunity to learn about a variety of semester and summer abroad programs around the world. Programs represented include those administered by Temple, as well as many offered by other universities and study abroad organizations. You'll have the chance to speak directly with external program providers at this fair.
 
In the spring semester, the Spring Study Abroad Fair takes place in late January and provides information about Temple's study abroad opportunities.
