Founded in 1971 and opening its doors in 1975, Griffith University is a public research university located in South East Queensland on the east coast of Australia. Griffith currently boasts over 50,000 students, 8,500 of whom are international students, and 200 degree programs with some of the top teachers in Australia. Exchange students have the opportunity to take major, minor, GenEd and elective courses.

Exchange participants are required to take a full-time course load (at least 12 Temple credits) while abroad and will earn transfer credit.

While Griffith has six campus locations, Temple students will study at the Gold Coast campus. Located just minutes from the beaches, the campus offers a dynamic and exciting student lifestyle, with many on-campus services, facilities, cafes and restaurants.

The campus has comprehensive facilities, including a library, computer labs, retail shops and restaurants, and a health center.
Griffith University operates on a trimester system instead of a semester system.
*Due to interference with Temple's academic calendar, it is not possible for Temple students to study abroad during Trimester 3. However, you can still spend two semesters at Griffith by applying to participate in a calendar year (February through October).

Program participants are required to be present for the entire length of the program, from the official arrival date through the program end date.
Students may choose to live in on-campus housing, university-arranged homestays, or find independent housing. Students are able and encouraged to book short-term accommodation before they settle on a long-term housing option.
Griffith University Village
Students have the option of choosing from several different room layouts, ranging from studios to 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments. A typical 5 bedroom apartment comes with the following amenities:
Griffith University Village also has a number of amenities available, such as laundry facilities, a swimming pool with outdoor lounges and deck chairs, student lounge, outdoor table tennis and pool table, a basketball court, a convenience store, and a cafe.

Host families are also close to public transport and have been carefully vetted by Griffith University.

As an Exchange Program participant, you will have access to the support provided by your host institution.
Students will pay a non-refundable program deposit of $400 within 2 weeks of nomination to the program. This non-refundable deposit is credited to your program fees as a prepayment.
Students pay Temple tuition and fees directly to Temple. Visit Temple’s Bursar for per-credit tuition rates. All students pay University Services Fee.

Temple programs are open to qualified students matriculated at any U.S. or Canadian college or university.
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following requirements.
You meet minimum cumulative GPA requirement, on a 4.0 scale from all colleges/universities attended. The requirement varies by program:
You remain in good academic standing from the time of application until the start of your term abroad; students on academic warning are not eligible to participate.
You will need a passport, valid well beyond the length of your program, by the application deadline.

You are in good disciplinary standing at the time of application and remain so through the start of your term abroad. Students who have been found responsible for a code of conduct violation and will not be in good disciplinary standing (including disciplinary probation) may submit a petition for review.
You are at least 18 years old at the time of application.
For Griffith University, the following additional considerations apply.
Non-U.S. citizens: you are welcome to study abroad if you meet the eligibility requirements; however, you are not permitted to study abroad on an exchange program in your home country. Please speak to Education Abroad if you have questions about your eligibility.
The standard application requirements pertain to all students applying to Temple programs.
All students applying for an exchange program are required to meet with a program manager before submitting their application.
