  • Description:

    This course is an introduction to Etching. Students will explore contemporary approaches to the traditional process of printing images inscribed into metal plates, including drypoint, line etching, aquatint, and collagraph. This form of printmaking is a great way to translate drawing and illustration into print. Students will explore the history and context of this process and look at artwork from a range of time periods. No printmaking experience is required, but a foundation in drawing is strongly recommended.
