Assessments/Exams

Please note that there are typically fewer assessments (both formative and summative), and often less classroom contact time, at host universities than you might be used to in the U.S. With more weight placed on fewer assignments and cumulative exams, you should expect to approach your learning with more independence.

Course Approvals Process

If you are accepted to your program, you will submit your planned courses for approval through Temple's External and Exchange Course Approval Process. Completion of the approval process will allow you to maintain full-time enrollment status, apply eligible financial aid to your program, and transfer credits earned abroad back to Temple.

Transferring credits back to Temple

Temple will accept approved courses with a passing grade equivalent to a C or better. After Temple receives an official transcript from your host institution, our team will evaluate the transcript for approved courses and determine credit equivalencies. We will post qualifying courses and equivalent credits to your transcript at that time. Your Temple GPA will not be affected by grades earned on an exchange; however, keep in mind that graduate schools will typically request all of your transcripts. Learn more about Temple's transfer credit policy.
