IES Abroad strives to provide premier study abroad programs for U.S. students that deliver the highest quality education while simultaneously promoting the development of intercultural competence. IES ran its first program in 1950 and now offers programs in 34 destinations around the world.

Funding for IES Abroad Semester/Academic Year Standard Programs

All Temple University students will automatically receive a $1,000 Public University Grant for any IES Abroad semester or academic year program. There is no application process to receive the Public University Grant, and it will automatically be applied to your overall tuition during billing. 

In addition, Temple University students are eligible to be considered to receive up to $6,000 in additional funding (on top of the $1,000 Public University Grant) for a semester or academic year program, based on your expected family contribution from your FAFSA form. If you would like to be considered for this additional IES Abroad funding (up to $7,000 total), you should complete the IES Abroad Scholarship & Aid application. You may complete the aid application any time before the financial aid deadline, including before submitting an IES Abroad program application. After submitting the aid application, you will be contacted by the IES Abroad Financial Aid team within 5 business days to confirm how much money you will receive.

*Academic year programs will have the Public University Grant applied to the first term only. 

Funding for IES Abroad Summer Programs and Full-Time Semester Internship Programs

While IES Abroad Summer programs and Full-Time Semester Internship Programs are not eligible for the Public University Grant, Temple University students are eligible to be considered to receive up to $3,000 in funding for a summer program, based on your expected family contribution from your FAFSA form. If you would like to be considered for this IES Abroad funding (up to $3,000), you should complete the IES Abroad Scholarship & Aid application. You may complete the aid application at any time before the financial aid deadline, including before submitting an IES Abroad program application. After submitting the aid application, you will be contacted by the IES Abroad Financial Aid team within 5 business days to confirm how much money you will receive.
