Want to improve your Chinese language skills abroad?

You could earn funding to study Chinese at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan this summer!

Take advantage of this opportunity offered exclusively to Temple University students. You’ll practice your Chinese skills with world-renowned professors in the heart of Taipei, whilst studying abroad with other students of Chinese language from the U.S. and around the world. If selected, you’ll receive funding to cover part of your living expenses abroad.
 

Program dates

ICLP: 10 weeks: mid-June through mid-August

CLD: 12 weeks: late May through late August
 

Academics

Students can choose between two programs to take intensive Chinese language courses.

The International Chinese language Program (ICLP) emphasizes total Chinese immersion and is ideal for students who have a solid Chinese background. You will have one-on-one classes with a teacher who will teach a custom curriculum for you, and three additional classes with 3 to 4 students max. You must sign a pledge at the beginning of the term saying you will only speak Chinese at all times in the classroom and within the ICLP area. This program is 10 weeks.

The Chinese Language Division at NTU offers Chinese language course with group instruction at all times (10-15 students per class). Classes are offered at various levels, from beginner to advanced. The program is 12 weeks.

Accommodations

Students are responsible for their own accommodation while abroad. NTU will provide participating students a list of off-campus housing options prior to departure.

There is no meal plan, but there are several cafes and two full-service Chinese restaurants on campus.

Students pay tuition and fees directly to NTU.

While abroad, each student will receive NTD 25000/month to cover living expenses.
