Student creators play a vital role in how we connect with and support future study abroad students. By sharing real, personal experiences, our bloggers help to make study abroad feel more accessible, relatable, and achievable.

Please submit the application that corresponds with the opportunity referenced in your email or program communication. Both programs are open to Temple and non-Temple students studying abroad on Temple and partner programs.

Global Storytellers

Apply now for 2026-2027!

Education Abroad is seeking a limited number of Global Storytellers for the upcoming semester. The Global Storytellers program is a paid opportunity for Temple and non-Temple students to share their study abroad experience in real time through blogs, videos, or photo stories. Storytellers capture academics, daily life, culture, and personal growth, offering future students an authentic and meaningful look at studying abroad.

Participants develop strong communication and creative skills, build content for their resume or portfolio, and are featured on Education Abroad platforms while helping inspire others to go abroad.

Storytellers may choose one format or combine multiple:

  • Blogger: short, reflective posts
  • Vlogger: edited videos of life abroad
  • Photoblogger: photos with captions

Content focuses on real student experiences, including classes, housing, daily routines, and cultural life.

Pay rate starts at $30 per approved blog post.

Culture & Identity Envoys

The Culture and Identity Envoy Program gives students the opportunity to explore and reflect on identity, culture, and community while studying abroad. Envoys participate in curated experiences and share written reflections that offer meaningful insight into their host location and personal experience.

This program is offered in Temple Rome and is now expanding to include Temple Japan's Tokyo campus, creating new opportunities for students to engage with culture in a global city setting.

This selective role allows students to:

  • Explore identity and culture in a global context
  • Engage more deeply with their host community
  • Build reflection and storytelling skills
  • Contribute meaningful perspectives to future students

Students selected as Envoys will:

  • Participate in cultural and community-based experiences
  • Submit 4 in-depth reflections throughout the semester

Participation is open to all students studying at Temple Rome or Temple Japan, Tokyo during the academic year, including Temple and non-Temple students.

Envoys participate in four curated cultural experiences throughout the semester. After each experience, they engage in a guided group discussion to reflect on themes of identity, belonging, culture, and community, and then develop their own reflection projects independently. Envoys receive $200 per reflection, with the opportunity to earn up to $800 total.
