Student creators play a vital role in how we connect with and support future study abroad students. By sharing real, personal experiences, our bloggers help to make study abroad feel more accessible, relatable, and achievable.

Applicants will be reviewed for the program listed in their email invitation. Please only submit the application that corresponds with the opportunity referenced in your email or program communication. Both programs are open to Temple and non-Temple students studying abroad on Temple and partner programs.

Global Storytellers

Apply now for 2026-2027!

Education Abroad is seeking a limited number of Global Storytellers for the upcoming semester. The Global Storytellers program is a paid opportunity for Temple and non-Temple students to share their study abroad experience in real time through blogs, videos, or photo stories. Storytellers capture academics, daily life, culture, and personal growth, offering future students an authentic and meaningful look at studying abroad.

Participants develop strong communication and creative skills, build content for their resume or portfolio, and are featured on Education Abroad platforms while helping inspire others to go abroad.

Storytellers may choose one format or combine multiple:

  • Blogger: short, reflective posts
  • Vlogger: edited videos of life abroad
  • Photoblogger: photos with captions

Content focuses on real student experiences, including classes, housing, daily routines, and cultural life.

Pay rate starts at $30 per approved blog post.

Culture & Identity Envoys

The Culture and Identity Envoy Program gives students the opportunity to explore and reflect on identity, culture, and community while studying abroad. Envoys participate in curated experiences and produce reflection projects that offer meaningful insight into their host community and personal experience.

This program is open to all students studying at Temple Rome or Temple Japan’s Tokyo campus during the academic year, including Temple and non-Temple students.

This selective role allows students to:

  • Explore identity and culture in a global context
  • Engage more deeply with their host community
  • Build reflection and storytelling skills
  • Contribute meaningful perspectives to future students

All Envoys are expected to participate in four events throughout the semester. Participants receive $200 per approved reflection project, with the opportunity to earn up to $800 total.

Temple Rome Envoy Program

Temple Rome Envoys engage in curated cultural experiences that connect both to the local community and the Temple Rome campus. Through these experiences, students explore the city from the perspectives of its diverse communities, including Afro-Italian groups, refugee populations, and other local organizations and initiatives.

Experiences are designed to encourage meaningful engagement with the surrounding community while deepening students’ understanding of identity, belonging, culture, and community in an international context. After each experience, Envoys participate in a guided group discussion to reflect on key themes and share insights with one another. They then independently develop reflection projects throughout the semester, documenting their experiences and exploring their evolving perspectives.

Temple Japan Envoy Program

Temple Japan Envoys participate in curated cultural and leadership experiences connected to both the Tokyo community and the Temple University Japan campus. As part of the LEAD program, Envoys serve as LEAD Volunteers, working alongside LEAD Fellows and contributing to initiatives that explore identity, belonging, culture, and community within a global city context.

Experiences may include assisting with the coordination of LEAD-organized events on campus, participating in events throughout Tokyo, and proposing and leading their own LEAD initiative. Following each experience, Envoys take part in an individual debrief before developing independent reflection projects over the course of the semester, documenting their engagement and exploring themes of identity, community, and cultural connection.
