Temple University’s summer study abroad offerings include programs based at our international campuses in Rome and Tokyo, as well as programs led by Temple University faculty in various locations around the world. Our summer programs serve a variety of needs — whether you are looking to take courses in your major or minor, enhance your general studies, or acquire language skills, we hope that one of our programs will allow you to achieve your academic goals.

Temple Japan Summer
Summer Semester (10 weeks)
Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) offers a ten-week summer semester with coursework available in Asian studies, Japanese language and a variety of other academic disciplines.

Temple Rome Undergraduate Summer
Temple Rome Summer Session I
In summer 2023, undergraduate courses are offered in architecture; art; art history; business administration; English; GenEd (Arts, Science and Technology, Human Behavior, and U.S. Society); geography and urban studies; Greek and Roman classics; history; Italian language; marketing; and religion. Credit-bearing internships in a variety of fields.

Prague Global Good Program
The Global Good's four-week undergraduate seminars offer students the opportunity to complete Intellectual Heritage II: The Common Good, in one of Europe's oldest capitals and cultural hubs. Undergraduate credit available.

Temple Summer in France
French Language at the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne
Spend an unforgettable summer in Paris studying French at the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS), one of the world’s great language institutes. Undergraduate credit available.

Temple Summer in Germany
Intensive German Language
Take your language skills to the next level by participating in Temple's Intensive German language program in Leipzig. The four-week or eight-week program is designed for undergraduates who have completed at least one semester of university-level German.

Temple Summer in Berlin
European Center of Culture, Politics, and History
Berlin serves as the classroom on this program, and it is an opportunity to take an in-depth look at the layers of history, culture, and politics that have formed the city symbolizing the strengths and complexities of modern Europe. Undergraduate credit available.

Temple Summer in Italy
Excavation of the Roman Villa in Artena
Join long-time Temple Rome professor Jan Gadeyne to learn the techniques of archaeological fieldwork by participating in the excavation of the Roman villa in Artena, a small hill town approximately 40 miles southeast of Rome.
Undergraduate and graduate credit available.

Temple Summer in Sicily
Sicily Applied Biotechnology Program
Based in Sicily, Italy, this program is an opportunity to develop and conceptualize biotechnological protocol, and then apply it in a laboratory setting, to preserve the Mediterranean's vulnerable historic-artistic manufacts from the effects of "biodeterioration."

Temple Summer in Italy Siena Research Program
Siena Biomedical Research Program
A limited number of opportunities are available for qualified Temple College of Science and Technology students and qualified non-Temple students to participate in a special for-credit research program in Siena, Italy. Undergraduate credit available.

Temple Summer in Serbia
Fieldwork in Social Services for People with Disabilities
Based in Belgrade, this program provides students with supervised hands-on experiences in social service programs for youth with disabilities in Serbia through a collaboration with the Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Belgrade.

Temple in Spain Summer
Oviedo Summer Session
The Temple in Spain summer program is comprised of coursework in Spanish language, literature, cultural studies and eating cultures (Human Behavior GenEd).

Temple Summer in Mexico Honors
Honors History in Mérida
Offering Temple students a deep dive into the history and legacies of colonialism in the Yucatán Peninsula to understand broader trends in the development of the western hemisphere. Undergraduate credit available.
