College of Public Health

There are several ways to choose a study abroad program, including by location, term, or type of experience. One way many students want to get started is by understanding which programs offer courses for their major. This page highlights programs especially suited to students in your school or college and can be used as a great starting point in your search.

Be sure to meet with your academic advisor as early as possible to map out which degree requirements you can plan to take abroad. Many programs include GenEd courses, minor requirements, or can help fulfill electives. If you don’t plan to take any major courses while abroad, explore the programs pages on our website to learn more about all the options.

Temple University Rome

Temple University Rome offers select public health courses during the summer, and courses offered vary by term and instructor availability. Interested students should review term-specific course offerings and contact the Program Management Team for more details.

Temple in Spain

In summer 2025, Temple in Spain will offer:

  • Health Services Administration and Policy 3207, Principles of Emergency Management: A Public Health Perspective (3 credits)
Exchange Programs

Temple University has established partnerships with several universities in countries around the world to provide students with the opportunity to learn as an international student at a foreign university for a semester or year. Unless otherwise mentioned, proficiency in the host country language is not required to participate.

Exchange program participants earn transfer credit for approved courses and can apply those credits towards the fulfillment of their degree requirements, including major, minor, elective, and most general education requirements.

External Programs

External programs that offer courses for CPH majors taught in English are available in countries all over the world. Students with proficiency in languages other than English may have additional location options. Visit the External Programs Around the World page to search external study abroad programs. You can filter programs by location, major, or course subject on the external providers' program search page.

External providers offer service learning or independent study/research opportunities that do not offer public health credit but could be related to public health. Note that proficiency in the host country's language is not always required to participate.

This following list is not meant to be an extensive list of opportunities, but rather a starting place for exploration.

  • Arcadia University: multiple programs in South Africa and the UK, as well as summer internships in Australia; use their Program Type and Subject filters to find programs that match your interests.
  • CIEE: Argentina (summer), Botswana (semester and summer), Dominican Republic (summer), Thailand (semester), and summer comparative health programs in London and other locations. A variety of global internship programs are also offered that may include public health placements, and Health Science Tracks are offered in Italy, Germany, France, and the UK.
